Condit and Kampmann shared “Fight of the Night” honors following their hard-fought, welterweight main event, while Cummings and Thatch earned “Submission of the Night” and “Knockout of the Night,” respectively.
Riding a two-fight losing streak into his rematch with Kampmann, Condit fought through some early adversity after the Dane scored multiple takedowns in round one. Eventually, Condit found his range and went to work with punches and kicks to Kampmann’s head and body, bloodying the Xtreme Couture rep before sending him packing with a fourth-round combination to avenge Condit’s 2009 defeat to “The Hitman.”
Cummings showed no fear in engaging Ben Alloway during their preliminary welterweight contest, diving for a pair of takedown and defending a guillotine attempt before locking up a tight brabo choke that forced the Aussie to submit 4:19 into round one.
Thatch made his Octagon debut a memorable one by quickly dispatching “TUF 13” veteran Justin Edwards, dropping “Fast Eddie” with a head kick and then relentlessly pursuing him with power shots to force referee Rob Hinds to halt the contest just 83 seconds into the bout.
