Canadian prospect Jordan Mein is wasting no time to get a tough fight after signing with Strikeforce as he will face Evangelista ‘Cyborg’ Santos on Sept 10.
Strikeforce officials announced the new match-up on Monday.
Jordan Mein comes to Strikeforce after a successful career in regional promotions while picking up wins over some very veteran talent along the way.
In his last two fights, Mein has defeated Dream welterweight champion Marius Zaromskis as well as former UFC fighter Josh Burkman.
Mein has also picked up a win over former UFC title contender Joe Riggs, finishing him by TKO earlier this year.
Facing Mein in his Strikeforce debut will be Chute Boxe fighter Evangelista ‘Cyborg’ Santos, who returns to action after an injury forced him off the July 30 card where he was scheduled to face Paul Daley.
Santos will look to rebound from a loss to Nick Diaz earlier this year in what was his 2nd fight at welterweight after a debut bout where he knocked out Marius Zaromskis.
The Sept 10 Strikeforce card currently features middleweight champion Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza against Luke Rockhold, and may also feature the next round of the heavyweight Grand Prix although no formal announcements have been made.
