For those holding out hope that former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre will one day return to the Octagon, that day doesn’t appear to be coming anytime soon.
“It’s not interesting for me right now. I’m not sure (if I will return). I just really don’t know,” St-Pierre told FOX Sports’ Ariel Helwani recently.
“That’s why I didn’t say if I’m retired yet. I just don’t know. I want to sit back, relax and watch the show. More and more, I have more fun in training and the fire is coming back. But it should be a rational decision as well.”
A large portion of St-Pierre’s decision to step away from the UFC was his disappointment over the pervasive use of performance-enhancing drugs, and the perception that little was being done to combat PEDs.

That has begun to change with athletic commissions and the UFC starting to take a much more aggressive stance against PEDs and crafting new measures to combat their use. But will it be too little, too late to lure St-Pierre out of his semi-retirement?
