Watch Erick Silva get knocked out stiff by Dong Hyun Kim in Brazil

It was a finish that no one really could have seen coming, considering Dong Hyun Kim hadn’t finished an opponent since UFC 84 more than five years ago.

That he did it in hostile territory against a crowd favorite Brazilian made it all the more impressive.

Three minutes into the second round, when he threw a left hand at the same time as Erick Silva, Kim’s landed. Silva’s did not. What did land for Silva, and quickly, was his back and his head as he hit the canvas, out cold from the punch.

Kim didn’t need to land the second punch on the ground, but it came anyway before referee Mario Yamasaki could get in to shut things down.

Silva was about a 2-to-1 favorite in the fight and himself had never been finished.

Kim (18-2-1 MMA, 9-2 UFC) got the win over Silva (15-4 MMA, 3-3 UFC) in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 29, which took place at Jose Correa Arena in Barueri, Sao Paulo, Brazil. The main card aired on FOX Sports 1.
