Frankie Edgar’s answer remains the same after another callout: Yes.

The ex-lightweight champ today said he’ll fight Max Holloway (14-3 MMA, 10-3 UFC) or Jeremy Stephens (24-11 MMA, 11-10 UFC) at The Ultimate Fighter 22 Finale on Dec. 11 in Las Vegas.

“I got called out by max holloway and Jeremy Stephens,” Edgar (19-4-1 MMA, 13-4-1 UFC), whose nickname is “The Answer,” wrote on Twitter. “I will fight either on dec 11 Let’s make it happen @danawhite @lorenzofertitta @ufc.”

Stephens proposed a fight with the ex-lightweight champ following his highlight reel win over Dennis Bermudez at July’s UFC 189. Edgar soon gave the thumbs up on social media.

Then Holloway added his name to the mix. After an injury to Charles Oliveira in the headliner of Sunday’s UFC Fight Night 74 brought his seventh straight win, he proposed a title eliminator in his native Hawaii, though he also was amenable to a rematch with interim champ Conor McGregor.

“UFC works in mysterious ways; I’m sure they’re going to find something for me,” Holloway told MMAjunkie following his win. “Let’s get UFC to Hawaii, and what better fight than Holloway vs. Edgar in a stadium? It would be huge.”

In an impromptu Q&A following Holloway’s announcement, Edgar said he had no preference whether his next fight is Holloway or Stephens. Of the former, he said of the outcome, “I don’t know how (it will end), but it won’t need the judges.”

At the same time, he also volunteered to act as an injury replacement in the event that a highly anticipated showdown between featherweight champ Aldo (25-1 MMA, 7-0 UFC) and McGregor (18-2 MMA, 6-0 UFC) doesn’t happen on Dec. 12 at UFC 194.

“I believe one of them will pull out,” he wrote.

Edgar was one of the first to congratulate McGregor after his interim title win at UFC 189, which saw three-time title contender Chad Mendes replace Aldo after a rib injury ruled out his participation. Edgar also offered his services as McGregor’s next opponent.

But he said Holloway is a fine substitute.

“Of course,” he wrote. “(Holloway) is in a seven fight win streak.”

At the moment, Edgar remains unbooked. But it appears he has no shortage of potential fights on the horizon, so his status should change soon.
