UFC on Fox 7 is filling up fast and the latest addition is a welterweight contest with “Fight of the Night” written all over it.
Hard-hitting Matt Brown, who went 4-0 during 2012, returns to action at UFC on Fox 7 to face British slugger Dan Hardy.
Sources close to the contest confirmed the fight to MMAWeekly.com on Tuesday with verbal agreements in place for the bout.
Matt Brown had one of the most impressive years of any fighter in the UFC, posting a perfect 4-0 record capped off with a knockout over Mike Swick at UFC on Fox 5 in December.
The former Ultimate Fighter cast member, who now trains at home in Ohio, just recently took over as the lead instructor at Buckeye MMA in Columbus as well.
Facing Brown in April will be former welterweight title contender Dan Hardy, who enters the fight on a two-fight win streak of his own.
Dan Hardy most recently defeated former Ultimate Fighter winner Amir Sadollah at the last UFC event in his home country of England, and now he heads to San Jose for a featured bout at UFC on Fox 7
Brown vs. Hardy, which was first reported by ESPN.com, is expected to be a main card bout on the UFC on Fox 7 show alongside the main event title fight pitting Benson Henderson against Gilbert Melendez, while Daniel Cormier meets Frank Mir in the co-main event.
