In his second fight since losing his world title in stunning fashion back in June, Javier Fortuna faced a stiff test in undefeated prospect Omar Douglas. That test looked even tougher than it had coming in when Fortuna went to the stool after the first round in a scheduled 10-round bout. In Round One, Douglas landed a sudden, big left hand on Fortuna during a close exchange which floored Fortuna, forcing him to struggle to finish the round. But Fortuna showed the seasoning of a champion over the course of the next nine rounds. He stuck to his gameplan of sticking and consistently moving, not allowing Douglas opportunities to counter.
