Norifumi Yamamoto has withdrawn from his scheduled bantamweight showdown with Ivan Menjivar at UFC 165, and “The Pride of El Salvador” will now meet Wilson Reis instead.

UFC officials announced the swap on Tuesday, though a reason for “Kid’s” withdrawal was not given. UFC 165 takes place Sept. 21 at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto. The evening’s main draw airs live on pay-per-view and is headlined by a light heavyweight showdown between reigning divisional kingpin Jon Jones and surging Swedish challenger Alexander Gustafsson.

Reis was initially supposed to make his Octagon debut against Hugo Viana tomorrow at UFC Fight Night 28 in Brazil, but that booking was scratched when “Wolverine” suffered a knee injury late in his preparation. The former EliteXC 140-pound champion, Reis is a veteran of four Bellator tournaments and rides a four-fight winning streak into his UFC foray.

Menjivar, meanwhile, has lost two of his last three fights after winning three straight from April 2011 to February 2012. The 31-year-old last saw action six months ago at UFC 157, when he was submitted via rear-naked choke by Urijah Faber in a rematch of their first meeting back in 2006. A 12-year pro, Menjivar is a veteran of 35 pro fights and owns 19 victories by either knockout or submission.
