Former Bellator and UFC fighter War Machine, also known as Jon Koppenhaver, was taken into custody on Friday afternoon in a cooperative effort by United States Marshals and the Simi Valley Police Department.
War Machine was wanted on several counts, including assault and domestic violence, in Las Vegas. He had been on the run for a week before authorities finally caught up with him at an Extended Stay America Hotel in Simi Valley, Calif.
War Machine is currently being held in the Ventura County (Calif.) main jail without bail. Charged in California with a felony charge of Fujtive from Justice, he is scheduled to go before the Superior Court on Tuesday.

Having most recently fought under the Bellator MMA banner, War Machine was quickly released when the allegations of the assault came to light. He also previously competed on The Ultimate Fighter and fought for the UFC. He earned Knockout of the Night and Fight of the Night honors at TUF 6 Finale in his promotional debut, but was released by the organization following UFC 84 after making insensitive remarks about the passing of former UFC middleweight champion Evan Tanner.
