LAS VEGAS – There is but one man who can conduct his own private media day during an event week in which he’s not even competing. That man is Conor McGregor.
Today, the gathered media in Sin City left the confines of Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Hotel & Casino, which plays host to Saturday’s “UFC 187: Johnson vs. Cormier” event, and headed just across the street to “The Ultimate Fighter” gym, where the Irish contender put on an hourlong workout, as well as conducted a half-hour interview session.
MMAjunkie will have highlights of the workout later today, but for now, watch McGregor’s complete, unedited scrum session, as he previews his UFC 189 fight with UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo – the Irishman is predicting a first-round finish – gave his thoughts on his rapid rise to superstardom and what other fighters can learn from his journey, discussed what fuels his passion for fighting and much, much more.
UFC 189 takes place July 11 at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena. The night’s main card, including the Aldo (25-1 MMA, 7-0 UFC) vs. McGregor (17-2 MMA, 5-0 UFC) headliner, airs on pay-per-view.
