The UFC is headed to Sweden for the first time in the company’s history in April for UFC on Fuel TV 2 on April 14 in Stockholm.

Sweden’s own Akira Corassani was tapped to make his Octagon debut against Britain’s Jason Young on the card, but that was before injury swept him out before he ever got in.

UFC officials on Saturday confirmed that American fighter Eric Wisely has verbally agreed to step in for Corassani, as well as adding a lightweight bout between Yoislandy Izquierdo and Reza Madadi to the UFC on Fuel TV 2 fight card.

The bout with Young will be Wisely’s (19-7) second start for the promotion. He lost his Octagon, and featherweight, debut submitting to a Charles Oliveira calf slicer at UFC on Fox 2 in Chicago earlier this year.

Although an exciting fighter, Young (8-5) is in desperate need of a victory. He has lost both of his UFC fights so far, dropping unanimous decisions to both Dustin Poirier and Michihiro Omigawa.

Izquierdo and Madadi are both making their promotional debuts.

Izquierdo (6-0) makes his way to the UFC via Championship Fighting Alliance, where he served as champion. He had a rather rough break-up with the CFA when the UFC came calling, but they finally settled his contract, allowing for “Cuba” to make his Octagon debut in Sweden.

He’ll face no easy task on April 14 because he’ll have one of Sweden’s own standing across from him in the cage. Born in Iran and now fighting out of Stockholm, Madadi (11-2) is notable for holding victories over UFC veterans Junie Browning, Carlo Prater, and Rich Clementi.

A light heavyweight tilt between Alexander Gustafsson and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira headlines UFC on Fuel TV 2.
