UFC on FOX 17 results: Nate Marquardt scores stunning KO of C.B. Dollaway

ORLANDO, Fla. – Nate Marquardt survived a couple hard shots from C.B. Dolloway in the first round just to land an even harder one of his own in the second.

Fortunately for Marquardt (34-15-2 MMA, 12-8 UFC), his right hand proved to be the kind of thing Dolloway (15-8 MMA, 9-8 UFC) couldn’t get up from, resulting in a knockout finish just 28 seconds into the second round.

The middleweight bout was part of today’s UFC on FOX 17 preliminary card at Amway Center in Orlando, Fla. It aired on FOX Sports 1 following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass and ahead of the FOX-televised main card.

Dolloway was the one who went hunting for the striking exchanges early, and that seemed to favor him in the opening round. After chasing Marquardt toward the fence with punches, Dolloway unleashed a left hook that had Marquardt hurt for a few brief moments before he regained his bearings and fired back.

But that early success might have resulted in Dolloway getting a little careless with his attacks. Early in the second he again had Marquardt backed up against the fence, but this time, Dolloway charged in with his hands down and got drilled by a perfectly placed right hand from Marquardt.

The blow dropped Dolloway flat on his back, with Marquardt following to deliver one short hammer fist before realizing that Dolloway was out cold. Marquardt then restrained himself from adding any more punishment, as referee Herb Dean jumped in to call it off.

The victory for Marquardt snaps a two-fight losing streak, giving him his first win since June 2014. Dolloway has now lost three straight.
