UFC lightweight Donald Cerrone is benched for 45 days following his TKO loss to champ Rafael dos Anjos, according to medical suspensions from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation following this past Saturday’s UFC on FOX 17.
The Florida State Boxing Commission, which oversaw the FOX-televised event at Amway Center in Orlando, Fla., suspended a total of six fighters from the 13-bout card.
Among those to suffer damaging losses was C.B. Dollaway, who was knocked out by Nate Marquardt on the event’s FOX Sports 1-televised preliminary card. The veteran of “The Ultimate Fighter 7” is suspended for a minimum of 60 days and indefinitely pending a CT scan.
UFC on FOX 17 drew a reported live gate of $1.71 million on attendance of 14,459 fans at Amway Center. Dos Anjos notched his first title defense and afterward called out UFC featherweight champ Conor McGregor, a common thread among winners at the event.
