CHICAGO – Edson Barboza reminded UFC fans of the brutal striking skills he possesses when marking up the body of Paul Felder at UFC on FOX 16.
Felder (10-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) was anything but a light touch in the bout, however, giving as well as he got for much of the fight. Barboza (16-3 MMA, 10-3 UFC) was sharper and able to deliver pinpoint strikes to the legs and body of Felder, leaving Felder with welts all along his right side. It was that work from Barboza that was enough to earn him the unanimous decision by scores of 29-28 across the board.
The lightweight bout was part of the main card of today’s UFC on FOX 16 event at United Center in Chicago. It aired on FOX following prelims on FOX and UFC Fight Pass.
