UFC on FOX 15 medical suspensions: Machida, Holloway, Swanson, Herrig out indefinitely

Few fighters left Saturday’s UFC on FOX 15 event unscathed, and nine competitors – including four main-card fighters – received indefinite medical suspensions.

MMAjunkie today obtained the list of disclosed suspensions from the New Jersey State Athletic Control Board, which oversaw Saturday’s FOX-televised event at Newark’s Prudential Center.

Lyoto Machida (22-6 MMA, 14-6 UFC), who suffered a second-round submission loss to fellow middleweight contender Luke Rockhold (14-2 MMA, 4-1 UFC) in the headliner, is suspended definitely until a physician clears him with a CT scan of his head.

Other main-card fighters who received indefinite suspensions included Chris Camozzi (right elbow), Max Holloway (left wrist), Cub Swanson (jaw, right thumb and head) and Felice Herring (facial bones).

The full list of suspensions included:

• Light Machida: Suspended indefinitely until physician clears head with CT scan
• Chris Camozzi: Suspended indefinitely until physician clears right elbow
• Max Holloway: Suspended indefinitely until physician clears left wrist with X-ray
• Cub Swanson: Suspended indefinitely until physician clears jaw (X-ray), head (CT scan) and right thumb (X-ray)
• Felice Herrig: Suspended indefinitely until physician clears head and facial bones (CT scan); regardless, suspended 45 days with no contact during training for 45 days for precautionary reasons
• Beneil Dariush: Suspended 30 days due to chin laceration
• Patrick Cummins: Suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days for precautionary reasons
• Corey Anderson: Suspended indefinitely until physician clears head (CT scan) and mandible; regardless, suspended 45 days with no contact during training for 45 days due to chin laceration
• Gian Villante: Suspended indefinitely until physician clears right ankle/foot
• Aljamain Sterling: Suspended indefinitely until physician clears right hand and right pelvic (X-ray)
• Takeya Mizugaki: Suspended indefinitely until physician clears left knee
• George Sullivan: Suspended 30 days with no contact for 30 days for precautionary reasons
• Jimy Hettes: Suspended 60 days due to ear laceration
• Chris Dempsey: Suspended 60 days due to facial lacerations
