Benson Henderson finished his first fight in more than 1,500 days, and he was handsomely rewarded for his sense of urgency.

“Smooth” captured a $50,000 “Performance of the Night” for his fourth-round submission of Rustam Khabilov in the UFC Fight Night headliner at Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque on Saturday night. A rear-naked choke from the former 155-pound king brought an end to the bout 1:16 into round four following three competitive rounds.

Piotr Hallmann took home the evening’s other $50,000 performance bonus, as he tapped out Yves Edwards with a rear-naked choke 2:31 into the third frame of their 155-pound encounter. The Polish fighter landed a takedown approximately 90 seconds into the stanza and threatened to move to full mount before finding an opening to secure the fight-ending hold.

Meanwhile, Scott Jorgensen and Danny Martinez garnered “Fight of the Night” honors and $50,000 apiece for their preliminary flyweight scrap. While Jorgensen ultimately won a decision on the strength of his wrestling, Martinez had his moments, most notably flooring the WEC veteran with a left hook early in the second round.
