The UFC’s annual Super Bowl weekend card takes place Saturday and features a bunch of heavy favorites from our staff on the main card.

UFC Fight Night 82, which was UFC 196 before the heavyweight title main event fell off, takes place Saturday at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The majority of the card airs on FOX Sports 1 after early prelims on UFC Fight Pass.

In the welterweight main event, former champ Johny Hendricks (17-3 MMA, 12-3 UFC) is the unanimous choice of our nine MMAjunkie editors, writers and radio hosts to top Stephen Thompson (11-1 MMA, 6-1 UFC), who comes in on a five-fight winning streak.

There are three other unanimous picks from our staffers on the six-fight main card. Ovince Saint Preux (18-7 MMA, 6-2 UFC) is a 9-0 choice to top Rafael Cavalcante (12-6 MMA, 1-3 UFC) in their light heavyweight bout; flyweight Joseph Benavidez (23-4 MMA, 10-2 UFC) is expected to take care of Zach Makovsky (19-6 MMA, 3-2 UFC); and light heavyweight Misha Cirkunov (10-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC), the biggest favorite on the card, is a 9-0 pick over UFC newcomer Alex Nicholson (6-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC).

There are two contentious fights on the main card, per our pickers. Roy Nelson (20-12 MMA, 7-8 UFC) is a 5-4 pick over Jared Rosholt (14-2 MMA, 6-1 UFC) in their heavyweight co-main event. And to open the main card, welterweight Mike Pyle (26-11-1 MMA, 9-6 UFC) is an underdog to Sean Spencer (12-4 MMA, 3-3 UFC), but has a 6-3 advantage in our staff picks.

In our MMAjunkie reader consensus picks, five favorites are coming out on top: Hendricks, Nelson, Saint Preux, Benavidez, Cirkunov. Pyle is the lone underdog to get the nod from the readers.
