The event will mark the promotion’s first trip to Seattle, and the show, headlined by a light heavyweight scrap between Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and Phil Davis, will emanate from KeyArena on March 26. Nogueira was originally supposed to square off with former champion Tito Ortiz, but “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” suffered a cut requiring stitches in training and was forced to withdraw from the contest.
Also scheduled for the evening is a pivotal welterweight co-main event, as heavy-handed Brit Dan Hardy locks horns with the returning Anthony Johnson. An additional 170-pound affair will pit “The Ultimate Fighter 7” winner Amir Sadollah against 11-year veteran Duane Ludwig. Rounding out the card is a rematch between featherweights Nam Phan and Leonard Garcia.
Lowe has won eight of his last nine bouts. The American Top Team representative rebounded from his difficult UFC debut against Melvin Guillard last May with back-to-back wins inside the Octagon. After taking a split decision win over Steve Lopez at UFC 119 in September, the powerful wrestler rode out a unanimous verdict over Willamy Freire at “Fight for the Troops 2” in January.
Like his opponent, Lentz is known for his smothering wrestling attack. The 26-year-old has yet to taste defeat in his UFC career. The Minnesota Martial Arts Academy product has gone 4-0-1 in the promotion since debuting against Rafaello Oliveira in 2009. Following a majority draw decision against Thiago Tavares, Lentz rattled off three straight wins in 2010, all by decision.
