UFC Fight Night 100 bonuses: Thomas Almeida got back in the win column – and took home an extra $50,000

SAO PAULO – Thomas Almeida, Pedro Munhoz, Cezar Ferreira and Gadzhimurad Antigulov[autotag] each earned $50,000 bonuses at today’s UFC Fight Night 100 event.

Each fighter took home “Performance of the Night” awards. No “Fight of the Night” honors were given out. UFC officials announced the winners at the press conference following the event, which MMAjunkie attended.

Coming off his first career defeat, Almeida (21-1 MMA, 5-1 UFC) got back in the win column with a second-round TKO win over fellow bantamweight Albert Morales (6-1-1 MMA, 0-1-1 UFC). Almeida suffered a loss at the hands of Cody Garbrandt in his previous bout. His rebound effort against Morales presented a high risk, low reward scenario, but he showed off his flashy striking while breaking down his game opponent before a second round flurry ended the bout.

Munhoz (13-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) struggled early in his bantamweight bout with Justin Scoggins (11-3 MMA, 4-3 UFC). However, a slip by Scoggins opened a window for Munhoz and he took full advantage. Munhoz locked in a guillotine choke in the second round to force the tap and secure his second consecutive victory with the hold.

Ferreira (11-5 MMA, 7-3 UFC) also found his success on the ground, tapping Jack Hermansson (14-3 MMA, 1-1 UFC) with an arm-triangle in the second round of their middleweight bout. Ferreira spent Round 1 dealing with the awkward striking style of Hermansson, blasting him with solid punches throughout the frame. In Round 2, Ferreira decided to test out Hermansson’s ground game and found a path to the finish with the arm-triangle choke.

Antigulov (19-4 MMA, 1-0 UFC) made a big statement in his UFC debut, wasting no time taking out Marcos Rogerio de Lima (14-4-1 MMA, 3-2 UFC) in just 67 seconds. Antigulov wasted no time putting the Brazilian on the ground. Once he had his foe down, Antigulov wasted no time securing a guillotine choke and forcing the tap.

UFC Fight Night 100 took place at Ibirapuera Gymnasium in Sao Paulo. It aired on FS1 following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass.
