A women’s strawweight bout between Nina Ansaroff (6-4) and The Ultimate Fighter 20 finalist Rose Namajunas (2-2) has been pulled from tonight’s UFC 187 fight card.
UFC officials announced the development just hours before the first fight was scheduled to take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
“After contracting a case of the flu, UFC strawweight Nina Ansaroff has been deemed medically unfit by doctors to compete in her UFC 187 bout against Rose Namajunas on Saturday night,” the organization said in a statement.
Ansaroff failed to make weight during the official weigh-in on Friday, missing the 116-pound limit by four pounds. With the bout cancellation, the pay-per-view event now features eleven fights.
