UFC 175, TUF 19 Finale start times, fan events, video preview

The UFC’s annual Independence Day weekend is twice as big this year with a pair of title fights on Saturday, plus an entire second fight card on Sunday.

And, of course, the fights are only part of it with “International Fight Week” going down in Las Vegas alongside UFC 175 and the TUF 19 Finale.

Here’s the essential information for this weekend’s dual events in “Sin City.”

UFC 175, TUF 19 FINALE START TIMES: UFC 175 takes place Saturday at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. The event kicks off with two prelims on UFC Fight Pass at 7 p.m. ET (4 p.m. PT), followed by four more on FOX Sports 1 (8 p.m. ET), then the five-fight main card on pay-per-view at 10 p.m. ET. The TUF 19 Finale main card airs on FOX Sports 1 at 9 p.m. ET (6 p.m. PT).

UFC 175, TUF 19 FINALE BACKGROUND: In the main event, middleweight champion Chris Weidman (11-0 MMA, 7-0 UFC) puts his title on the line against former light heavyweight champ Lyoto Machida (21-4 MMA, 13-4 UFC). And in the co-feature, reigning women’s bantamweight titleholder Ronda Rousey (9-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC) is once again a massive favorite, this time against Alexis Davis (16-5 MMA, 3-0 UFC). In the TUF 19 Finale main event, B.J. Penn (16-9-2 MMA, 12-8-2 UFC) drops down to featherweight for the first time to take on former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar (16-4-1 MMA, 10-4-1 UFC), the man who twice beat him in lightweight title fights.

UFC 175 OPEN WORKOUTS TODAY: A number of UFC 175 fighters will go through light workouts for fans and media, followed by interview opportunities. The workouts take place at Fashion Show Mall in Las Vegas in The Great Hall & Runway. Attending will be Weidman, Machida, Rousey, Davis and featured preliminary card fighter Urijah Faber. The event is free and open to the public starting at 1 p.m. PT local time.

UFC 175, TUF 19 FINALE ULTIMATE MEDIA DAY THURSDAY: A massive “Ultimate Media Day” takes place Thursday at South Pacific Ballroom at Mandalay Bay Events Center. A total of 12 fighters from this weekend’s cards will be on hand, including some Q&As exclusively for fans. Weidman, Machida, Rousey, Davis, Faber, Alex Caceres, TUF 19 Finale headliners Frankie Edgar and B.J. Penn, and the four finalists from “TUF 19? all will take part, as will UFC President Dana White. The fighters will meet with the media at 10:30 a.m. PT local time, followed by a fan Q&A at 11:30 a.m.. White will square the fighters off at 11:45 a.m.

UFC 175 WEIGH-INS FRIDAY: Friday’s UFC 175 fighter weigh-ins take place at Mandalay Bay Events Center. You can watch a live video stream here at MMAjunkie or get text-only results beginning at 7 p.m. ET (4 p.m. PT local time). We’ll also have a video replay and full photo gallery available afterward. The weigh-ins are free and open to the public, with doors opening at 3 p.m. CT local time. The usual weigh-ins day Q&A session will take place following the weigh-ins this time from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. PT. In addition, FOX Sports 1's “UFC Tonight” will have a special live edition of the show from 5:30 to 7 p.m. PT with Jay Glazer and Kenny Florian.

UFC FAN EXPO ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY: The UFC Fan Expo returns to Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas for a full day of exhibitor booths, special Q&A sessions and presentations, autograph signings and picture opportunities, and much more. The Expo takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT.

TUF 19 FINALE WEIGH-INS SATURDAY: Weigh-ins for Sunday’s TUF 19 Finale will take place inside the UFC Fan Expo on the main stage. Doors for fans just attending the weigh-ins open at noon PT, and the weigh-ins take place at 1 p.m. PT. But the card will include the finals in the middleweight and light heavyweight divisions, plus a headliner trilogy rematch between Frankie Edgar and B.J. Penn.
