UFC President Dana White announced that UFC queen Ronda Rousey (9-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC) will defend her crown against #3 in official UFC women's bantamweight rankings, Alexis Davis (16-5 MMA, 3-0 UFC), at UFC 175 in the co-main event.
UFC 175: Weidman vs. Machida takes place July 5 at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Undefeated Rousey has ended 8 fights by submission (armbar) where 7 in round 1, her last by TKO-victory (knee to the body) in round 1 at UFC 170 against Sara McMann on February 22 in Las Vegas. Only one of her fights has gone past round one; when "Rowdy" met former women's Strikeforce champion Miesha Tate at UFC 168 on December last year which the 2008 Olympic Bronze Medalist in judo ended with her signature submission (armbar) at the beginning of round 3.
Black belt in both Japanese Jujutsu and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Davis, has a five-fight win-streak. She has fought 3 times in the octagon which has all, including her latest fight against Jessica Eye at UFC 170, ended with decision. Note that "Ally-Gator" is also a Canadian Open grappling champion.
