BALTIMORE – MMAjunkie is on scene and reporting live from today’s UFC 172 event.

The card, which features UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones vs. Glover Teixeira, takes place at Maryland’s Baltimore Arena. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.

Chris Beal (9-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) vs. Patrick Williams (7-4 MMA, 0-1 UFC)

Round 1 – Touch of gloves to start the night. Williams on the outside, circling. He drives in but backs away. He gets caught by a quick punch and briefly staggers. He recovers quickly, and Williams lands a knee to the groin. Beal is wounded, and Williams rushes to move in for a rear-naked choke. Fortunately, referee Herb Dean saw the illegal blow and halts the fight. On the restart, Williams lands a hard kick to the leg. Beal throwing wild shots. Williams gets a takedown, but Beal scrambles up. Big punches traded. Lot of action just two minutes into the fight. Williams resets in the center. He again rushes forward with strikes, but Beal avoids and returns fire. Beal landing with slick strikes, but it’s Williams that scores a takedown. Beal quickly up again. Lot of action. Williams’ quirky style causing Beal some issues, but Beal landing with the cleaner blows. Williams uses his right foot to push off the cage, but he doesn’t let his hands go. Beal turning up the heat late in the round. Williams scampering away. Beal keeps the pressure high and ends with a flurry. MMAjunkie scores the first for Beal, 10-9, based on the cleaner strikes despite the Williams takedowns.

Round 2 – Beal takes the center. They move into the clinch, and Williams lands a knee as he pulls away. Leaping right hand from Williams, and a retreating Beal runs into Dean. Wild strikes on the restart again. Williams is the one engaging and moving at odd angles, but it’s Beal who’s landing cleaner. Williams, who was complaining of a slick canvas between rounds, retreats and wipes his feet in his corner. He shifts left, and Beal unleashes a flying knee that lands on the button. Brutal knockout with the right knee crashing into the chin. Williams out cold.

Charlie Brenneman (19-7 MMA, 4-6 UFC) vs. Danny Castillo (17-6 MMA, 7-3 UFC)

Round 1 – Castillo with an early low kick. He continues to chop away, and Brenneman looks to strike over the top. Castillo drops levels but eats a punch as he moves in and has to back away. Brenneman then answers with a takedown attempt and scores with a trip. Side control for Brenneman, and he drives in a few knees to the body. Brenneman looks to be setting an arm-triangle on the far side. He transitions over in a beautiful sweep and goes to attack the arm. Incredible transition, but Castillo defends and slips out, moving immediately to the back and driving in a few knees to the hamstring. Castillo tries to elevate, but Brenneman grans the cage and spin. Slick transition again, and Castillo has to back away. He scores with a leaping jab. Castillo goes to the body but Brenneman answers with a kick to the legs. One minute left, and Brenneman again drives in on a takedown. Castillo transitions back up, but Brenneman gets to his back. He slips off, and Castillo then reverses the position. Final seconds, and Castillo looks for the choke, but it’s not there. Round ends, and MMAjunkie scores it for Brenneman, 10-9.

Round 2 – Low kick from Brenneman. Castillo uncorks a right hand. On the chin, and Brenneman is out. Amazing. Castillo looks to follow but realizes there’s no need. Another brutal finish.

Bethe Correia (8-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) vs. Jessamyn Duke (3-1 MMA, 1-01UFC)

Round 1 – Duke pumps her long jab early. Correia retreating and kicks the leg. Duke sticking with the jab for now. Correia continues to kick the leg, though not too terribly hard. Correia rushes in with overhand shots, but she doesn’t stay there long. Duke turns up the heat a little and gets into a clinch, but Correia pulls away. Correia continues to pepper the legs. Tentative pace from both right now. Correia timing counters well over the long jab. She looks to be gaining confidence, as well. Overhand right from Correia. Duke not afraid to trade, but her leg is getting marked up badly. Duke with a trip, but Correia pulls away. Duke still walking forward, pumping a jab, but Correia is countering very well. They trade shots in the pocket, and Duke looks for a knee. She’s strong in the clinch, and Correia works hard to pull away. Round ends with Duke starting to turn it up, but MMAjunkie gives it to Correia, 10-9.

Round 2 – Duke quicker with the jab this time. She lands with a sharp right, as well. Quicker pace here from both women. Correia’s kicks to the legs are stinging. They move into the clinch, and Correia presses her opponent to the cage. Duke with a few knees and then scores the takedown. As she looks for a submission, Correia slips free and turns to the top. Nice transition for Correia. Side control for Correia. Referee Kevin Mulhall calls for action. Correia looking for mount. Duke preventing with her leg. Duke turns to her knees and works up to her feet. Correia stays tight to the body, but Duke with a slick toss to the floor. Big throw. Correia scrambles quickly up. Correia lands a big left hand on the restart. Duke smiling, loving the contact, but she’s getting outworked. The shorter Correia is outworking her bigger foe. Duke does land a nice knee to the body. Correia scoring with powerful hooks.Another knee comes from Duke at the end, but MMAjunkie gives it again to Correia, 10-9.

Round 3 – Duke coming out quickly, but Correia is there to answer with powerful hooks in the pocket. Correia still tagging the legs, as well. Duke has the long, straight punches, but Correia is scoring with the wider hooks. Spinning backfist for Correia. Crisp hook. Correia looks very confident. She tags the legs again. Duke not checking the leg kicks. When she throws first, Duke is landing the jab, but she’s simply not leaping the pace high enough. Every time they get close, Correia rattles off four or five punches. Halfway into the final round. Crowd wants the pace to quickes. Stiff left for Duke lands. As Correia moves in, Duke hits another beautiful takedown and goes right in to attack the arm. It’s not there, and Duke has to settle on to her back. Duke with rubber guard, but she’s not advancing, and Mulhall brings them back up. Less than a minute, and Correia moving forward. Duke misses on a takedown. She lands a nice right, but Correia is busier. Round ends, and MMAjunkie sees it for Correia, 10-9, awarding her the fight 30-27.

Round 1 – Vallie-Flagg circles left as Gomi strikes a very low stance. Punches traded, and they move quickly into the clinch. Nothing there, so they back away. Vallie-Flagg firing front kicks, while Gomi switching stances and winging hooks. Vallie-Flagg kicks the legs. Gomi rattling off punches. Big right from Vallie-Flagg. Another scores. Gomi’s nose reddened from the early punches. Vallie-Flagg with a nice kick to the body, and a jab follows. Gomi was busy early, but Vallie-Flagg dialing it in. Vallie-Flagg a little off-balance ona kick, and he falls to the floor. Gomi goes quickly to capitalize. Vallie-Flagg turns to escape, but Gomi goes immediately to his back. Gomi looks for the choke, but Vallie-Flagg keeps his neck safe. Gomi keeps looking for it, but Vallie-Flagg is able to stay safe and return to his feet. Less than a minute left. Gomi now coming alive with sharp kicks and a nice right hand. Vallie-Flagg answers with strikes. Fun stuff in the opening round. MMAjunkie leans toward Gomi, 10-9. Very close.

Round 2 – The pace starts quickly, as Vallie-Flagg looks aggressive. Quick break, as Gomi needs some tape cut from his glove. Vallie-Flagg goes back to the kicks to the body, which took some deep breaths out of Gomi early. Gomi showing heavy power shots. Vallie-Flagg continues to work the body. He scores with a nice right hand over the top. Stinging leg kick from Gomi. into the clinch, and Vallie-Flagg with a nice knee. Gomi gets free and pops out his jab. Both fighters exchanging in the pocket. Great work so far. Gomi lands to the body, and Vallie-Flagg is hurt. Both fighters looking to bang. Both look to be tiring with two minutes left, but they’re still trading. Gomi starting to string combinations together. They move into the clinch. Nothing there, so they back away. Gomi lands with an overhand right. Vallie-Flagg cut under the right eye. Another big left from Gomi. Vallie-Flagg with a flying knee attempt. Another good round, and MMAjunkie gives it to Gomi, 10-9.

Round 3 – Scores could be anywhere. Gomi calls to the crowd for some cheers to start the final round, and they respond. Vallie-Flagg still the aggressor, moving forward and looking to strike. Meanwhile, Gomi is content to bring him in and score with big counters. Vallie-Flagg’s right eye is completely shut. Still, he moves forward. He pushes Gomi to the floor and starts to strike, but Gomi won’t stay put and gets back to his feet. Crowd starts chanting Gomi’s name. Vallie-Flagg gets to the outside and drives in a few knees. Vallie-Flagg with a nice short elbows, and Gomi finally pulls away. Two minutes into the final round. Cntinued work from both. Cobinations from both fighters. Vallie-Flagg’s face is an absolute mess. Blood flowing down. They move into the clinch, and the blood is running down the bodies of both fighters. Gomi slips to the back. Vallie-Flagg turns in and reverses and scores with a takedown. He wants the neck but slips off the back. Gomi finishes on top. Great fight. MMAjunkie sees the final round for Gomi, 10-9, awarding him the fight 30-27. Much closer than that score would suggest, and with a close first round, 29-28 would be just. Incredible heart from Vallie-Flagg.

Round 1 – Elliott rushes froward right away. They trade shots, but Elliott scores with a takedown. Benavidez wants a guillotine. It’s not there, but he moves up to the feet. As they reset, Elliott is doing his thing, moving wildly. Elliott gets inside and scores a takedown and briefly holds the crucifix. Benavidez’s arms ares trapped behind him. He patently works free from a very bad position. Great grappling from both. They scramble up to the feet. Elliott lands a knee, but Benavidez backs away. Elliot looking very good early. He drives in for another takedown. There’s a scramble, and Benavidez gets to front control before controlling the neck and pushing Elliott to the floor. Benavidez working very hard to get to mount. He can’t quite get there. Benavidez keeping control of the head. He finally gets to mount and gets the choke in place. Incredible work to get there, and Elliott is trapped. With his arms trapped, Elliott has to tap with his feet.

Good pace early from the rangy strikers. Fili scores with an uppercut. Fili still mixing in kicks to the legs. Fili with a left that staggers Holloway briefly. Fili jams Holloway on a kick, and Holloway hits the floor but pops up. Fili with a fake and just misses on a high kick. Fili mixing up the levels. Fili starting to string punches together, but Holloway is there to answer, as well. Fili with a strong leg kick, and he drops down for a takedown. He scores it, but Holloway immediately back to his feet. Final minute of the opening round. Fili kicks the body. A second one scores, as well, but Holloway gets a few strikes inside. Holloway spins off and lands a short elbow. Round ends there. Good action, but MMAjunkie leans toward Fili, 10-9.

Round 2 – Fili opens quickly with punches. Holloway again scores with the spinning kick right to the liver. Fili wants a takedown. Instead, Holloway defends and lands a few solid knees. Holloway backs away, and Fili resets on the center. Jabs traded. Holloway scores with a right hand. Holloway catches a kick, and Fili looks for the flying technique. He slips off, and Holloway pulls away. Holloway with a nice right hand. Fili again looks for the takedown, but he can’t get it. Fili has slowed since that big kick early on. He does land a few strong kicks, but Holloway looks to be gaining confidence. Fili finally gets inside on a takedown and drives through to bring the fight to the floor. Referee Kevin Mulhall calls for action, but it’s not there, so he brings them quickly to the feet. Crowd doesn’t like the quick restart. Fili scores again to the body, but Holloway answers with punches. Another spinning kick from Holloway lands, and Fili looks for the takedown. Holloway defends well and pulls away. Fili working desperately again for the takedown. Holloway defends, and they trade knees before the bell. MMAjunkie leans toward Holloway, 10-9.

Round 3 – Both fighters busy again to open. Fili seems fresher than he did for most of the second. Holloway just misses on a big uppercut. Fili wants a takedown but can’t get it. Fili pulls away and shoots again, but Holloway defends and lands with a knee. Holloway short on another spinning kick. Holloway drops again for a takedown, and this time he gets it. Big move there 90 seconds into the round. Holloway crawls to his feet and pulls away before is opponent can capitalize. Right hand scores for Holloway. Fili wants a takedown, but Holloway’s defense is sound. Fili relentless with the takedowns. Holloway gets the neck. He can’t sink in the choke. He does land a nice knee inside. Holloway with a nice flurry in the clinch, and Fili is hurt. Holloway sees it and pounces. Fili shoots, but Holloway snatches the neck, drops to the floor and squeezes on the neck. Slick guillotine ends the fight.

Round 1 – Jabs pawed by both fighters. Miller misses on a low kick and a big left shortly after. Medeiros using a front kick early and looking to strike from range. Miller scores with a lead right. Miller catches a front kick and fires back with a kick to the body. Nice left hand from Medeiros. Miller answers back, but Medeiros turns to the body. Big body shot from Miller, and Medeiros is hurt but waves his opponent forward. Miller pushes in. He kicks the groin, but we fight on. Miller charging, and in a scramble to the floor, Miller works in the guillotine choke. It’s tight. Medeiros is trying to get free, but he’s in trouble. It looks like he’s about to tap, but he can’t get it done. Referee Mario Yamasaki realizes he’s out, and he pulls Miller away. Medeiros is asleep.

Round 1 – Boetsch with an early kick to the body. He’s moving well, as Rockhold looks to attack. Boetsch shoots in, but Rockhold scrambles well and rolls right into a setup for an inverted triangle. Boetsch stuck, but he’s got space to breathe. Rockhold looks to adjust, and he also drives in several elbows to the body. Rockhold turns his attention to the right arm and looks for the kimura. Boetsch in trouble, but he gets his back to the ground. Rockhold patiently adjusts and wrenches the arm yet again. Boetsch has to tap. Incredible work to finish the fight.

Round 1 – Davis moving laterally. Johnson walking forward and looking strike. Davis with a kick to the body. Johnson patient right now.He jabs, and Davis clinches up, but Johnson pushes him away. Johnson lands an uppercut. Davis looking again for the shot, but Johnson defends well. Davis pops up and lands two strikes, but Johnson answers with a nice low kick. Johnson blocks a kick and looks very comfortable early.Johnson still patient in the center. Inside leg kick for Johnson. Davis kicks the body. He’s changing levels and looking for options. Johnson tags him with an uppercut. Davis is hurt. Johnson not overextending, but he continues to tag Davis, who is now cut over the left eye. Johnson extremely patient and in complete control. Davis with a sneaky high kick, but Johnson blocks it. Johnson stalking, and he kicks the legs. Powerful punches don’t land clean but push Davis off-balance. Round ends on the feet, and MMAjunkie gives it to Johnson, 10-9.

Round 2 – Johnson takes the center as Davis circles right. Davis pumping a jab, but Johnson kicks his thigh. Stiff jab for Johnson. Davis trying to stand and trade. He’s a little hesitant to pull the trigger, and Johnson is taking advantage of it. Davis thinks takedown, but Johnson just stuffs it and peppers him with punches. Right hand scores as Davis tries to move inside. Johnson very patient, but he is explosive when he unleashes. Even when Davis blocks the blows, he gets pushed off-balance. Jab lands for Johnson. Davis is offering some return fire, but there is not doubt who the more powerful fighter is right now. Davis combination ends in a high kick, but Johnson block it and counters. Johnson starting to wag his hands a bit. He switches to southpaw. Davis desperately dives on a takedown, but Johnson easily shucks him off. Closer round, but MMAjunkie gives it to Johnson, who looks fantastic so far.

Round 3 – Both fighters ask for some love for the crowd, and they touch gloves to start. Davis looks to have energy, but he’s also struggling o mount any offense. Davis leaping in with right hands, but Johnson avoiding and pumping a stiff jab. Johnson easily defending another takedown. He’s got fantastic head movement in avoiding his opponent’s strikes. Davis finally gets inside, but he can’t score the takedown. Johnson shoves him away and lands a knee. Davis trying to press, but Johnson in complete control. Johnson fighting within himself, but he is rifling off a power shot every now and then. Johnson kicks the body. Two minutes left. Johnson slips a superman punch and just misses a huge high kick. Davis finally gets inside and deep on a single-leg takedown. He still can’t get it. Davis scores a stiff jab. Crowd wants Johnson to go crazy in the final seconds. He chooses to defends instead. Round ends there. Amazing return for Johnson, who takes the final round on the MMAjunkie card, 10-9, getting the fight 30-27.

Round 1 – Touch of gloves to start the title fight. Quick kicks to the body from Jones. Teixeira throwing bombs early. Jone slooks willing to fight inside, and he narrowly avoids a big shot. Jones looks for a takedown, but it’s not there. Jones working a nice jab. Teixeira goes to the body. They clinch briefly. Teixeira fires a big right hand. Teixeira certainly showing his power early, but Jones looks calm and comfortable in the pocket. Teixeira poked in the eye. He gets a quick break, but they move right back to action. Jones with a nice left hook. Jones chops the legs a few times. Jones catches a kick and scores a nice takedown, but Teixeira turns to his knees, pulls his head free and gets to his feet. Jones switching stances. Teixeira gets a clinch and tries to knee, but comes up short. Teixeira with some thunderous left hands that narrowly miss. Jones with a spinning kick to the body. Teixeira leaps forward with a right hat just Misses. Jones pulls up short on a flying knee and than lands an axe kick. Round ends there, and MMAjunkie gives it to Jones, 10-9.

Round 2 – Teixeira presses. Jones drops down and scores a takedown, but Teixeira stands right back up. Jones firing a few kicks that are blocked. Jones with solid head movement as he avoids Teixeira’s power shots. Left and scores for Jones, and he’s constantly switching stances. Jones now starting to keep his distance a bit and utilizing his range. Another axe kicks. Straight punches land. Teixeira poked in the eye again. This time referee Dan Miragliotta gives him a warning and says he’ll take a point if it happens again. Not much of a break for Teixeira, and we restart quickly. Spinning kick misses for Jones. Teixeira goes to the body, and he presses Jones to the cage. He lands a few big punches at all levels, but Jones scampers off the cage. High kick from Jones, as well as a short elbow. Jones pressing in and lands more elbows. Teixeira drops for a takedown, but Jones defends it. Spinning kick to the body for Jones. He moves inside and drives the shoulder into the chin. Teixeira kicks the body in the final seconds. Jones just misses a spinning kick. Round ends, and while Teixeira had some moments, the round goes to Jones on the MMAjunkie card, 10-9.

Round 3 – Teixeira out with an overhand right to start. He throws to the body. Jones comes back with a left hook.Jones kicks the body and grabs a guillotine as Teixeira moves inside. Teixeira quickly away. Teixeira lands to the body, but Jones avoids the rest of the blows that follow.Jones with a solid right hand that loosens Teixeira’s mouthpiece. He adjusts it, and they restart. Jones looking o takedown. In the clinch, they trade a bit, and Teixeira lands solid with an uppercut. Jones looks briefly hurt, but he recovers quickly. Teixeira bleeding a bit from the nose, but he’s throwing powerful blows as they trade inside. Jones firing elbows as he pushed Teixeira into the cage. Left hook from Jones, and he backs away. Teixeira’s face is busted up, and blood is running down his cheeks. Jones kicks to the body. He hasn’t been throwing much with his right hand, but he’s doing a on of work with a stiff left. They’re inside and trading, and it’s Jones with the uppercuts. Big shots traded. Heavy action to close, but MMAjunkie gives it to Jones, 10-9.

Round 4 – Teixeira has a bad cut over the right eye. It’s not bleeding now, but it could be a problem if he gets hit there again. Jon is pressing inside and working in what should be Teixeira’s range. Teixeira drops for a takedown, and Jones easily pushes him away. Jones continues to work from the clinch. When he breaks, Jones lands a stiff shot that knocks out Teixeira’s mouthpiece. Brief pause to clean it and replace it. Jones kicks the body. He’s throwing knees inside.
