UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar, with back-to-back wins over B.J. Penn, not only moved into the No. 1 ranking in the world and captured the most coveted belt in the sport, but also captured an air of invincibility in many people’s eyes.

Talking to the media at the MGM Grand on Wednesday, Maynard respects Edgar, a fighter he has defeated once before, but he doesn’t put the champ on a pedestal, saying, “We’re all human.”
