Tyron Woodley replaces an injured Hector Lombard against Dong Hyun Kim at UFC Fight Night: Bisping vs. Le.
Dana White was in Hong Kong for a press conference Tuesday afternoon ahead of UFC Fight Night: Bisping vs. Le, which is set for the Cotai Arena on Aug. 23, and will be the promotion’s third card to be held in Macau.
Kim (19-2-1) was initially slated to face Lombard in a match-up, which would have had major implications for the 170-pound title picture, but the Cuban has withdrawn from that bout with an injury that has not been disclosed.
In his places will be Woodley (13-3), who has a quick turnaround after suffering a unanimous decision defeat in a title eliminator with Rory McDonald at UFC 174 earlier this month. He is currently in Singapore preparing for the fight with Kim at Evolve MMA.
A lightweight bout between TUF China 170-pound winner Lipeng Zhang (7-7-1) and Australian debutant Brendan O’Reilly (5-0-0-1) has also reportedly been booked for Aug. 23 in Macau.
