At Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 49 event, Rafael dos Anjos finally got his first UFC headliner. And in the biggest bout of his pro career, the Brazilian emerged victorious in a stunning upset.
Dos Anjos (22-7 MMA, 11-5 UFC) defeated former lightweight champion Benson Henderson (21-4 MMA, 9-2 UFC) by first-round TKO at Tulsa’s BOK Center. The FOX Sports 1-televised headliner catapults him to title contention.
The 29-year-old has now won six of his past seven fights, and with the lone defeat in that stretch coming to contender Khabib Nurmagomedov, he’s very close to a championship fight.

Feeling a Benson Henderson dec. Rafael dos Anjos is a fine lightweight. He can surely muster an upset. But Bendo is too smart. Few mistakes.—
