Twitter reacts to Jon Jones-Daniel Cormier UFC 178 media day brawl

Jon Jones (20-1 MMA, 14-1 UFC) and Daniel Cormier (15-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) will meet for the UFC light heavyweight championship in the main event of UFC 178 on Sept. 27. However, at Monday’s media day in Las Vegas, the world got a little preview of what’s to come when the two clash less than two months from now.

Directly in middle of the lobby inside Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, “Bones” and “DC” tangled in a moment that has sent waves through the MMA community. As MMAjunkie captured on film, the two rivals engaged in one of the most heated brawls in MMA history and had to be separated by a swarm of onlookers.

It appears both fighters made it through the incident free of injury and the championship bout will go on as planned, although they could receive some sort of punishment from the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

Some feel the actions of both men were completely unwarranted and unprofessional; others feel it gave the fight a necessary jolt of energy and excitement levels for the bout were raised tenfold. ??To see how the MMA community reacted to the Jones-Cormier brawl, check out the Twitter reactions below:
