Some die-hard MMA fanatics are frantic over Tito Ortiz making his TNA wrestling debut last night, facing off in the Wrestling arena against his future MMA opponent Quinton “Rampage” Jackson. Crossing the lines of sport and entertainment has offended some, but I say why not?
Bellator ratings have not lived up to expectations and they are taking a huge risk with their PPV of Rampage vs. Ortiz, why not hype it the best they can? Combining the TNA fan base further with the Bellator viewership is a win-win if you ask me.
As long as the integrity of the real fight come PPV time remains intact and unscripted, I love it and finally have a reason to tune into TNA. Pundits can complain and have the right to do so, but I say Cheers to Viacom for trying something different. They are making headlines with the move, and that of course was what Bellator needs right now.
Enjoy the drama, enjoy both Bellator and TNA, and we shall see how this all shakes out…..
