An injury has knocked Tatiana Suarez out of her strawweight battle with Juliana Lima.
Suarez (4-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) and Lima (8-3 MMA 2-2 UFC) were set to face off at UFC Fight Night 102, which takes place Dec. 9 at Times Union Center in Albany, N.Y. The entire card streams live on UFC Fight Pass.
UFC officials confirmed the change to MMAjunkie. The promotion is searching for a replacement opponent for Lima.
Lima (8-3 MMA 2-2 UFC), who’s ranked No. 15 in the latest USA TODAY Sports/MMAjunkie MMA women’s strawweight rankings, is looking to rebound from an April loss to Carla Esparza. The loss snapped a two-fight winning streak.
Suarez won “The Ultimate Fighter 23” and the bout with Lima would have been the first trip back to the octagon for the 25-year-old. She won the TUF title with a D’Arce choke of Amanda Cooper.
