TUF 14 Finale: After Head Coaching, Michael Bisping and Jason Miller Will Fight on the Season Finale

The Ultimate Fighting Championship on Friday announced that Michael Bisping and Jason “Mayhem” Miller would coach teams on the fourteenth season of “The Ultimate Fighter.”

Shaking things up just a bit, however, UFC president Dana White on Saturday night said that instead of headlining a pay-per-view card later, Bisping and Miller would fight in the main event of the TUF 14 finale.

“Why? We wanted to,” said White. “It’s what we were planning on doing.”

Detractors may point at the disappointing TV ratings from the current season of “The Ultimate Fighter” as a catalyst, but as White points out, they’ve done it before.

B.J. Penn and Jens Pulver, after serving as coaches, fought on the finale of Season 5 of “The Ultimate Fighter.”

It’s not a permanent change, either. White said it was a decision for “just this one,” not all seasons down the road.

Bisping and Miller, both known for the gift of gab, have already started a groundswell of excitement for Season 14, even though the show hasn’t even started filming yet.

The show will debut on Spike TV in September, likely featuring featherweight and bantamweight fighters, with the finale expected to take place in early December.
