An injury has forced former ‘Ultimate Fighter’ season 1 competitor Stephan Bonnar out of the upcoming UFC on Versus 5 show in Milwaukee, and newcomer Ronny Markes has stepped into his spot.
The UFC made the announcement about the switch late Friday night.
Ronny Marki ‘Ronny Markes’ Sales da Silva is a Brazilian fighter with an 11-1 record, who most recently defeated former WEC champion Paulo Filho in late April by unanimous decision.
Markes has fought for the majority of his career in Brazil, and will make his U.S. debut against heavy handed fighter Karlos Vemola at the show taking place at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisc.
The light heavyweight contest will be part of the UFC on Versus 5 card, and right now is set to be on the preliminary portion of the card headlined by welterweights Chris Lytle and Dan Hardy squaring off.
