Two new fights have finally been added to the upcoming UFC 159 card landing in New Jersey in late April.
Former Ultimate Fighter winner Roy Nelson will get back in action, looking to build on his last knockout win over Matt Mitrione, as he faces Cheick Kongo.
In addition to that heavyweight showdown, NCAA All-American Phil Davis will take on multi-time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu champion Vinny Magalhaes.
Both fights were announced during Tuesday night’s broadcast of UFC Tonight.
A winner of two in a row, Roy Nelson will look to make it three straight victories when he faces Kongo at UFC 159. His challenge will be Frenchman Cheick Kongo who tries to build on his last fight at UFC 149, a win over Shawn Jordan.
Former NCAA champion Phil Davis will try to pick up his first win of 2013 when he finally returns at UFC 159. Davis originally stepped up on short notice to face former UFC champion Forrest Griffin at UFC 155, but when Griffin suffered an injury, he was pulled from the card completely.
Now Davis faces a new test in former Ultimate Fighter finalist Vinny Magalhaes, who will look to add the biggest win of his MMA career to his resume in April.
Both fights are added to the UFC 159 fight card which is headlined by UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones as he faces Chael Sonnen in the main event.
