A pair of flyweights looking to rebound from recent disappointing losses has been added to UFC 207.
The Las Vegas Review Journal first reported that Ray Borg and Louis Smolka have agreed to meet at the Dec. 30 event, which takes place at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena. UFC officials subsequently confirmed the booking.
Smolka is currently ranked No. 14 in the latest USA TODAY Sports/MMAjunkie MMA flyweight rankings. Borg checks in just behind at No. 15.
“Da Last Samurai” Smolka (11-2 MMA, 5-2 UFC), a 25-year-old Hawaiian, had built an impressive four-fight winning streak before being shocked by Brandon Moreno at October’s UFC Fight Night 96, losing by first-round submission.
“The Tazmexican Devil” Borg (9-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) is just 23 years old but already boasts five fights under the UFC banner. Most recently, Borg saw a three-fight winning streak snapped with a loss to Justin Scoggnis at February’s UFC Fight Night 82 event.
