RFA 4 Medical Suspensions: Four Fighters Possibly Out Until May 2013


The Resurrection Fighting Alliance 4: Griffin vs. Escudero medical suspensions were released Tuesday by the Nevada Athletic Commission.

RFA 4 marked the promotion’s first foray into Las Vegas, with the event taking place on Friday, Nov. 2, at Texas Station.

Former UFC fighter Tyson Griffin, after more than a year outside of the cage, returned with a unanimous decision victory. Griffin also escaped the medical suspension list, while Efrain Escudero received a brief suspension.

RFA 4 Medical Suspensions:

Efrain Escudero is suspended until Nov. 24 with no contact prior to Nov. 17.

Phil Dace must have a possible nasal fracture cleared by an ear, nose and throat doctor or no contest until May 2, 2013. He faces a minimum suspension until Dec. 18 with no contact prior to Dec. 3 due to a deep cut on his right cheek and a left lower orbital laceration.

Lance Palmer must have the second metacarpal on his left hand x-rayed to rule out a fracture. If the results are positive, he will need orthopedic clearance or he face no contest until May 2, 2013. He faces a minimum suspension until Dec. 18 with no contact prior to Dec. 3.

Guilherme Trindade is suspended until Jan. 2, 2013, with no contact prior to Dec. 18.

Derrick Burnsed is suspended until Dec. 3 with no contact prior to Nov. 24 due to a large hematoma on his right cheek.

Sergio Pettis is suspended until Dec. 3 with no contact prior to Nov. 24 due to a facial contusion.

Jimmy Jones must have his left forearm x-rayed to rule out a fracture or no contest until May 2, 2013. He faces a minimum suspension until Dec. 3 with no contact prior to Nov. 24.

Tyler Perry must have a fractured left thumb cleared by an operating surgeon or no contest until May 2, 2013. He faces a minimum suspension until Dec. 18 with no contact prior to Dec. 3.

Cory Galloway is suspended until Dec. 3 with no contest prior to Nov. 24 due to right upper eyelid cut.

Jordan Isordia is suspended until Dec. 3 with no contest prior to Nov. 24 due to left scalp laceration.
