Nick Diaz, Khabib Nurmagomedov Involved in Brawl at WSOF22

Nick Diaz, Khabib Nurmagomedov Involved in Brawl at WSOF22

Saturday was chock full of action in the cage, but Nick Diaz and Khabib Nurmagomedov gave fans an extra treat out of it. Video has surfaced of the sons of Stockton and their entourage getting into a heated brawl with UFC lightweight Nurmagomedov and his teammates at World Series of Fighting 22.

You can check it out here:

Diaz can be seen throwing a drink at Nurmagomedov, who was at the event to corner his brother Abubakar Nurmagomedov and teammate Islam Mamedov, who had fought earlier in the night.

Things escalated from there, resulting in Diaz being escorted away while another unknown individual attempted to rush the Nurmagomedov camp but was quickly wrapped up by security. WSOF matchmaker Ali Abdel-Aziz can be seen frantically rushing back and forth, trying to calm things down.

Khabib, it is worth noting, does not get physically involved in the altercation in any serious way. The would-be contender is currently recovering from knee surgery and is not yet in fighting shape, be it in or out of the cage.

It's hard not to draw comparisons between this dust-up and the infamous Strikeforce: Nashville brawl. The 2010 incident saw Diaz who, once again, was in attendance for a bout involving his friend and teammate, Jake Shields, sucker-punch Jason "Mayhem" Miller, who crashed Shields' post-fight interview.

The punch sparked a huge melee between Miller, Shields' corner, the Diaz Brothers and the entourage of Shields' opponent, Dan Henderson—all live on network television. The scrap wound up being the last network TV event for the now-defunct promotion, that was bought out by the UFC in 2011.

None of the involved parties have put forward an official statement regarding the incident. It is also possible that this may spark some a hearing from the Nevada State Athletic Commission. Keep an eye on Bleacher Report for more updates as they break.
