Nick Diaz Arrested

Nick Diaz

The Diaz brothers are no stranger to controversy. That is one one the main things that makes them so popular. This time it is Nick Diaz’ turn with the headlines. Last time we saw him in the octagon was a year and a half ago at UFC 158 where he lost his second fight in a row via unanimous decision, this time to George St. Pierre. Nick spent a lot of time after that telling the media and UFC he won’t be fighting any longer unless it comes with a rematch against GSP and more money.

Diaz is set to face off with “The Spider” and former champion Anderson Silva for UFC 183 on January 31st of 2015 in a much anticipated return for both fighters. However, he has now found himself in legal trouble. It came to light on Friday Nick Diaz was arrested Sept 6th with several charges which include suspicion of DUI, obstructing a police officer, destroying evidence, among other. Diaz was also arrested Dec of 2013 for the same thing and has missed court dates since, even with a written letter promising he would appear.

He is set to be in court for the December charges on Sept 25th in which he may be adding the recent charges into the mix. This does not look good for the entertaining, outspoken welterweight.  Right now it is unclear if this will affect the scheduled match up between himself and Silva. We will keep you updated.
