Narantungalag, 35, competed in kickboxing prior to his MMA career, losing K-1 MAX bouts to the likes of top competitors Buakaw Por Pramuk and Masato. The lightweight made his MMA debut in 2004 against Norifumi Yamamoto, falling to “Kid” by first-round knockout.
After suffering another defeat, Narantungalag found his rhythm in MMA, notching four straight wins before making his inaugural Sengoku Raiden Championship appearance at SRC 14 in August 2010. The Mongolian shocked Akihiro Gono, upsetting the Pride Fighting Championships and UFC veteran by earning a unanimous decision and spoiling his lightweight debut. Most recently, the Team Asashoryu export earned his second-straight win in the SRC ring, knocking out Kazunori Yokota in just over two minutes in December.
