Misha Cirkunov vs. Nikita Krylov slated for UFC 206 in Toronto

After a 3-0 start in the UFC, Misha Cirkunov is getting a step up in competition.

Cirkunov (12-2 MMA, 3-0 UFC), a 29-year-old Latvian-Canadian light heavyweight, meets Nikita Krylov (21-4 MMA, 6-2 UFC) at UFC 206 in Canada.

UFC officials today announced the bout via TSN.com.

UFC 206 takes place Dec. 10 at Air Canada Centre in Toronto. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FS1 and UFC Fight Pass, though the bout order hasn’t been finalized.

Krylov is No. 12 in the USA TODAY Sports/MMAjunkie MMA light-heavyweight rankings. Cirkunov isn’t ranked.

Since debuting with the UFC in 2015, Cirkunov has picked up stoppage wins over Daniel Jolly, Alex Nicholson and Ion Cutelaba. The former HKFC champion and Brazilian jiu-jitsu black now has an overall seven-fight winning streak

Krylov, meanwhile, looks for his sixth straight UFC victory. The 24-year-old Ukrainian fighter suffered a submission loss to Ovince Saint Preux after dropping to light heavyweight, but he’s since rebounded with five consecutive stoppage wins. Most recently, he scored a head-kick knockout of Ed Herman in July.

The latest UFC 206 card now includes:

  • Champ Daniel Cormier vs. Anthony Johnson – for light-heavyweight title
  • Zach Makovsky vs. John Moraga
  • John Makdessi vs. Lando Vannata
  • Olivier Aubin-Mercier vs. Drew Dober
  • Rustam Khabilov vs. Jason Saggo
  • Poliana Botelho vs. Valerie Letourneau
  • Misha Cirkunov vs. Nikita Krylov
