Bellator MMA officials announced Thursday that Jeremy Kimball’s planned middleweight tournament semifinal with Dan Cramer was scrapped after Kimball failed to make weight. Additionally, Andrey Koreshkov’s welterweight tournament semi with Sam Oropeza was pulled when Koreshkov could not weigh in after coming down with the flu. The latter matchup will be rescheduled, according to Bellator’s announcement.
Despite two tournament bouts going down, the Bellator 115 heavyweight title headliner will move forward without a hitch, as both champion Vitaly Minakov (253.4) and challenger Cheick Kongo (232.8) hit their contracted marks at Thursday’s pre-fight weigh-ins.
Bellator 115 takes place Friday night at the Reno Events Center in Reno, Nev., and the evening’s main draw airs live on pay-per-view.
With the last-minute changes to the fight bill, Herman Terrado’s (170.6) welterweight showdown with Justin Baesman (170.9) will now take place on the televised card, as will Volkan Oezdemir’s (205.6) light heavyweight match with Kelly Anundson (205.8) and Mikkel Parlo’s (193.5) catch-weight clash with Johnny Cisneros (192.6).
Prior to the main card broadcast, the show’s undercard streams live on Spike.com, highlighted by a welterweight matchup pitting Strikeforce alumnus James Terry (170.3) against Rick Reeves (170.1).
