Marvel, DC? The Uncanny Benson Henderson is Awaiting Your Call

Benson Henderson‘s No. 1 goal right now is to become the UFC lightweight champion of the world at UFC 144 in Japan.

If there was a close second to the title, however, for Henderson it might be seeing himself immortalized in the pages of a comic book.

A self-professed comic book nerd, Benson Henderson grew up on X-Men comics, and when a new film is released based on a comic book, he’s the first one in line to see it.

“I’m big into the Marvel Universe,” Henderson professed when speaking to MMAWeekly Radio.

While other fighters might fantasize about being in a video game or having an action figure made, Henderson’s dream is to see himself with a new mutant power drawn into infamy on the pages of one of his favorite books.

So if he’s successful at UFC 144, instead of going to Disney World, Henderson would love to get a call from the makers at Marvel, DC, or Image for a cameo appearance.

That’s a childhood dream come true right there.

“That would be friggin’ awesome; that would be sweet,” Henderson stated. “Even if I got to do a guest appearance or something like that, that would be cool. Have a little mini-series, a couple Uncanny X-Force issues, that would be awesome.”

Being the champion does grant a certain level of success. UFC light heavyweight champion Jon “Bones” Jones has appeared on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson has starred in the A-Team movie.

All Benson Henderson wants is the chance to throw down alongside Wolverine, Deadpool, and Fantomex in an issue of his favorite comic series.

“Give me Stan Lee’s number, let’s call him up,” Henderson joked.

If Henderson is successful in his bid to defeat Frankie Edgar at UFC 144, he might be the one getting a call from Stan Lee instead.
