As M-1 Global prepares for their 2nd card taking place on Showtime tonight in California, the plans are already taking shape for their 3rd card which will happen in October.

M-1 Global Director of Operations Evgeni Kogan confirmed the details of the next show when speaking with MMAWeekly Radio.

According to Kogan, the card will take place on October 14, but they are still coordinating a location at this time.

Current plans are for M-1 Global heavyweight champion and undefeated prospect Guram Gugenishvili to make his return to action on the card.

Gugenishvili was originally supposed to defend his title on Friday’s Showtime card, but an injury forced him to the sidelines.

As far as opponents, the winner of Friday’s main event between Kenny ‘Deuce’ Garner and Pat Bennett will be in the running, but will likely have to take another fight before getting a shot at the champion in October.

“I would imagine they’ll probably fight once more,” said Kogan. “I think there’s a couple of Russian guys, and maybe a couple other guys we’re looking to sign and they’ll probably face one of them and the winner of them will likely face Guram in October.”

In addition to Gugenishvili being on the card, former ‘Ultimate Fighter’ finalist and current M-1 Global light heavyweight champion Vinny Magalhaes is expected to make his next title defense in October.

“October 14th, which is a Friday. That’s the next card, it’s at 11pm ET and PT and the heavyweight title match, Guram’s coming back so U.S. debut for him, hopefully he’s not injured again, crossing our fingers. Also Vinny Magalhaes will probably make his next appearance on Showtime also during the October event,” Kogan revealed.

Magalhaes is currently riding a four fight win streak, and will look to make it five in a row in October when he returns to action for M-1 Global.

More details about the card will be released in the coming weeks.
