Luke Rockhold Out of UFC 166, CB Dollaway Steps In to Face Tim Boetsch

Luke RockholdFormer Strikeforce middleweight champion Luke Rockhold has pulled out of his scheduled UFC 166 bout with Tim Boetsch due to injury.  CB Dollaway has stepped in and will now face Boetsch on Oct. 19 in Houston.

UFC Tonight broke the news on Wednesday.

Boetsch (16-6) was on the cusp of a title shot in 2012, but has lost his last two outings to Constantinos Philippou and Mark Munoz.  He hopes to stop the recent skid and get back on track to becoming a contender.

Dollaway (13-4) is on a two-fight winning streak.  He’s coming off a Fight of the Night performance against Daniel Sarafian on Jan. 19.  With some momentum behind him, Dollaway looks to extend his winning streak to three.

Rockhold (10-2) made his UFC debut on May 18, losing by knockout to former light heavyweight titleholder Vitor Belfort.  His search for his first UFC win is on hold and it’s unknown how long Rockhold will be sidelined.

UFC 166 takes place on Oct. 19 at the Toyota Center in Houston. The event is headlined by the third fight between heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez and former champion Junior dos Santos.
