With a mix of MMA and kickboxing bouts, Friday’s Legacy FC 48 event took place in a ring rather than a cage. But the night’s controversy took place on the mat with a submission.
In an AXS TV-televised main-card bout at Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino in Lake Charles, La., Kolton Englund (3-2) quickly took his 160-pound catchweight fight to the mat. And though opponent Gage Duhon (5-2) may have tapped during a scramble, the fight was never waved off, and Duhon quickly rallied for the win.
Additionally, in the co-headliner, former UFC lightweight Sean Soriano (9-3) continued his resurgence on the regional scene with a big knockout of Josh Quayhagen (8-4).
