Josh Koscheck’s opportunity to redeem himself following his upset loss to Paulo Thiago at UFC 95 in February is going to have to wait.
Koscheck’s comeback campaign had been slated to kick off on May 23 at UFC 98 in Las Vegas but the former NCAA wrestling standout has been forced to withdraw from the card due to injury. The season one veteran of The Ultimate Fighter had been slated to face Chris Wilson.
FiveOuncesOfPain.com confirmed the news with multiple sources close to the fight on Friday.
Wilson is expected to remain on the card with a replacement for Koscheck currently being sought. However, it is unknown whether Wilson would remain on the televised portion of the pay-per-view event. If a high-profile replacement is not signed to fight Wilson, it’s possible that an undercard bout could be promoted to the main card.
