Jon Jones Opens as Betting Favorite Against ‘Rumble’ Johnson for UFC Title Fight

While the mixed martial arts world continues to buzz about Anthony Johnson’s impressive stoppage of Alexander Gustafsson at last weekend’s UFC on Fox 14 card in Stockholm, the betting world still favors UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones over the powerful “Rumble.”
Two bookmakers have released their opening lines for the as-yet-unscheduled title bout between Jones and Johnson, and both have listed the defending champ as the betting favorite.
According to BestFightOdds.com, brokers 5Dimes and Bovada currently list Jones as the favorite at -315. On the opposite end, “Rumble” is getting play at +235 and +245.
In layman’s terms, a bet of $315 on Jones would net you an additional $100 (plus your investment), while a $100 wager on Johnson would earn a profit of $235 or $245.
These lines are subject to change and will fluctuate as more information regarding the bout becomes available. But for those looking to cash in on the streak Johnson is riding, it seems as if the odds will be quite similar for the challenger as they were heading into his bout against “The Mauler.”
