Jimi Manuwa Blasts Ovince Saint Preux in the Second (UFC 204 Results) | MMAWeekly.com

Jimi Manuwa scored a big win at UFC 204 in Manchester, knocking out Ovince Saint Preux in the second round of their main card fight on Saturday in the United Kingdom.

Manuwa battered his foe against the fence in the final moments of the frame, landing a left hand that disconnected Saint Preux from his consciousness at the 2:38 mark.

The two started by trading various strikes, followed by moments in which they engaged in the clinch, each of them throwing knees from that position. The fight then came to the ground where Saint Preux worked to find a submission while securing his opponent’s back. Manuwa briefly transitioned and had a guillotine attempt, but OSP worked out of it and returned to working on his opponent’s back. The two returned to the feet in before the opening round ended.

Manuwa then began to find his stride in the second round, hitting Saint Preux with combinations as the defending fighter backed up. Manuwa then landed a right hand that made OSP wobbly. Smelling blood, Manuwa began to throw heavy punches with his opponent backed against the cage. With a left hand, Manuwa dropped Saint Preux for the final time and was pulled off his opponent as the referee stopped the fight.

With the win, Manuwa improves to 16-2 and jumps back in the win column after a previous loss to Anthony Johnson.
