Invicta FC signs amateur flyweight prospect Aspen Ladd for expected 2015 debut

aspen-laddInvicta FC got itself a Christmas present in the form of a new flyweight for its roster.

Amateur Aspen Ladd is the latest fighter in the Invicta fold. The promotion recently announced the 19-year-old’s signing, saying she is expected to debut in 2015.

Ladd, who Invicta says went 8-1 as an amateur fighting out of California with the MMAGold team that includes Bellator veteran Jos Appelt, WSOF vet Lewis Gonzalez, recently won the Tuff-N-Uff women’s flyweight title with a first-round submission win against Roma Pawelek.

“I’m thrilled. It’s been my dream for years now, ever since I first started fighting,” Ladd stated. “I always assumed there would be three things in my life: work, fighting and school. This is the combination. I get to do my passion for work and I couldn’t be happier. I just have to prove myself.”

No first opponent or debut event have been set for Ladd. Invicta has yet to announce any fight cards for 2015. Earlier this year, the promotion cut a deal with the UFC to have its events live-streamed via UFC Fight Pass.

Invicta’s most recent event, Invicta FC 10, took place earlier this month. Herica Tiburcio upset atomweight champion Michelle Waterson to win the title in Houston.
