A pair of UFC featherweight newcomers will meet when the promotion makes its debut in New Zealand next month.
New Zealand’s own Daniel Hooker (10-4 MMA, 0-0 UFC) will meet England’s Ian Entwistle (8-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) at UFC Fight Night 43. Promotion officials announced the new contest late Tuesday night.
Featuring a middleweight headliner of Nate Marquardt vs. James Te Huna, “UFC Fight Night 43: Te Huna vs. Marquardt” takes place June 28 at Vector Arena in Auckland, New Zealand.
The entire event streams in the U.S. on UFC Fight Pass, though a bout order has not yet been revealed.
Hooker has won five straight fights, all by stoppage. Overall, he has nine of his 10 wins by finish with four knockouts and five submissions. The 24-year-old has been pro since 2009.
Entwistle, a Cage Warriors veteran, has won four straight fights, all by submission. Overall, the 27-year-old Brit has seven of his eight wins by stoppage, with another the result of a disqualification. This past December, he submitted Liam James at Cage Warriors 62.
