Swedish Alexander Gustafsson (15-1 MMA, 7-1 UFC) and former Strikeforce champion Gegard Mousasi (33-3-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC) headlines April's UFC on FUEL TV 9 event in a five round fight that finally has been approved.

"However, it is important to remember that this decision does not mean that the overall match time for (all) MMA matches increases," said SMMAF President George Sallfeldt.

Earlier, at the time the bout between Gustafsson and Mousasi was announced, the Swedish MMA Federation (SMMAF) said the light-heavyweight fight wasn't approved for five rounds and needed special clearance.

UFC boss Dana White recently announced that Gustafsson will be the next title contender if he beats Mousasi.

UFC on FUEL TV 9 takes place April 6 at Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden.

On Monday, UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis and former Strikeforce titleholder Gilbert Melendez began filming the twentieth season of The Ultimate Fighter in Las Vegas, NV. While the show has, in large part, become formulaic and stale, especially after a recent listless nineteenth season, this upcoming iteration at least promises a few fresh caveats, as it will not only introduce a brand new weight class to UFC audiences -- the women's 115-pound division -- but it will also crown a new ch more

Sorry Torontonians, Las Vegas is the place to be for one of the biggest fights of the year.
The first epic clash between Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson took place in Toronto, Ontario, and the rematch was supposed to be in the same city. Those plans have been nixed, and on a special edition of UFC Tonight, Lorenzo Fertitta confirmed that UFC 178 will be in Las Vegas on 9/27. Believe it or not, it's the first time that Jones has fought in Vegas as a champion, although they tried to accomplish more

Poor guy is always the last to know...
Gegard Mousasi had no idea his fight against Ronaldo Souza was no longer taking place in Los Angeles.
That is, until he went on social media and discovered the promotion had "postponed" its UFC 176 pay-per-view (PPV) event. That means "The Dreamcatcher," by his own account, trained six weeks "for nothing," and took to his official Facebook page (via James Lynch) to put his employer on blast.
