Fernando Gonzalez vs. Michael Page gets Bellator 151 co-main event spot

Michael Page will take the next step in his Bellator career when he faces streaking welterweight Fernando Gonzalez at Bellator 151.

Bellator 151 takes place March 4 at WinStar World Casino and Resort in Thackerville, Okla. The main card airs on Spike following prelims on MMAjunkie.

Page (9-0 MMA, 5-0 BMMA) has been one of Bellator’s most entertaining fighters and someone the promotion has looked to bring along at a comfortable pace. He has finished all but one of his professional opponents, including a verbal submission win over Charlie Ontiveros in his most recent bout. In the bout with Ontiveros, Page landed a series of hard elbows that caused a dislocated jaw.

Gonzalez (24-13 MMA, 4-0 BMMA) doesn’t have the most sparkling of records on paper, but he has been on a tear since signing with Bellator. After defeating past welterweight tournament winner Karl Amoussou in his debut for the promotion, Gonzalez stopped former UFC star Karo Parisyan via first round TKO. He defeated Curtis Millender in his most recent bout, picking up a third-round guillotine choke submission victory. However, Gonzalez tested positive for marijuana metabolites following the bout, his second such failed drug test in his four fights in Bellator.
